Job summary

Alvin Tx is seeking a detail-oriented civil construction inspector to monitor and manage City projects through all phases, ensuring compliance with codes, ordinances and safety standards. You will handle field surveys and respond to public inquiries about construction activities, while reporting to the CIP Project Manager.

The role requires five years of progressive inspection experience and an Associate degree in engineering technology or related field, plus a valid Texas driver's license.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, monitors, inspects and provides project management services for all phases of City construction projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, ordinances, standards of quality, standards of safety, and contract specifications. Surveys construction sites as required; responds to public inquiries and complaints regarding construction and other field activities. Performs related work as required. The incumbent must be able to perform specialized tasks in a highly independent manner. Reports to the CIP Project Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires experience in civil construction, engineering or inspection, or related field supplemented by a minimum of five years of progressively responsible construction inspection experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Associate degree in engineering technology, drafting or related field desired.

Must possess a valid state driver's license.

Salary:

Starting Salary $22.95/hr.
