Job summary

Walbridge is seeking a Human Resource Specialist for a state-of-the-art construction project near Van Buren Township, MI. You will champion culture, manage HR processes, and advise staff and management to foster positive employee relations and a productive work environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and 3–5 years HR experience, with proficiency in HRIS, MS Office, and data analysis. Travel about 10% may be required; construction/union experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, IO psychology, or related field with 3–5 years HR experience.
• Proven expertise in a specific HR specialty area (e.g., recruitment, employee relations, benefits).
• Proficiency with HRIS, databases, MS Office, and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues discreetly.
• Excellent time management and organization in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel; travel is estimated at 10%.

Responsibilities

• Champion Walbridge culture of inclusion initiative and promote strong working relationships.
• Provide guidance and maintain compliance with EEO, labor classifications, and OFCCP requirements.
• Partner with on-site project supervisors, facilitate the Talent Acquisition process, and support the corporate HR team.
• Provide oversight of new team member programs, health & wellness initiatives, training, labor postings and signage, and substance abuse testing process.
• Lead investigations and resolve team member relations matters promptly and effectively.
