Job summary

The Scruggs Company, a growing construction firm based in Auburn, GA, is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Generalist to partner with business leaders and support a fast-growing division, Sunbelt Asphalt Services.

You will manage full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll processing, and performance management, while ensuring compliance with federal and state labor laws and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in construction, transportation, or manufacturing.
• Experience with HRIS systems; Arcoro preferred.
• Experience processing weekly/bi-weekly payroll.
• Working knowledge of employment and labor laws.
• Knowledge of wage and hour regulations at federal and state levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage full cycle recruiting: sourcing, interviewing, hiring, onboarding.
• Conduct new hire orientation and assist with training initiatives.
• Maintain employee records and ensure policy compliance.
• Audit timecards for payroll reporting and accuracy.
• Administer benefits programs and assist with reviews/bonuses.
• Support performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Promote employee engagement and open communication.
• Assist HR reporting, records management, and travel arrangements.
• Support HR initiatives and special projects.
