Placements24 is seeking a Construction Foreman to lead residential site operations in the Welkom area, Free State. This role requires hands-on leadership to supervise daily activities, coordinate trades, and ensure safety and quality on site.

You will read blueprints, manage materials, and report progress to the Project Manager, while mentoring on-site teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within residential construction.
• Proven ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors effectively.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily construction activities on residential building sites.
• Coordinate and schedule the work of various trades, ensuring seamless workflow and adherence to project timelines.
• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, conducting regular site safety inspections and toolbox talks.
• Manage on-site materials and equipment, ensuring efficient utilization and preventing wastage.
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications, ensuring work is executed according to plans.
• Maintain daily progress reports, documenting activities, labor, and any site issues encountered.
• Liaise with the Project Manager and other stakeholders regarding site progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Ensure all work carried out complies with building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to on-site teams and subcontractors.

About the Role

Our client, a reputable developer known for its quality residential constructions, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Construction Foreman to lead site operations for new housing developments in Welkom, Free State. This hands‑on role requires a proactive leader to supervise daily construction activities, ensure project milestones are met, and maintain high standards of workmanship and safety. The Foreman will be responsible for coordinating trades, managing on‑site resources, and acting as the primary point of contact for site personnel and subcontractors. Requirements

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.
• First Aid and Health and Safety representative certifications are advantageous.
• A strong commitment to safety and quality on construction sites.
• Must be willing to work full‑time on‑site in the Welkom area.
