Job summary

Billd, an Austin-based fintech, is seeking an Account Manager to handle day-to-day deal flow, underwriting, and customer interactions with contractors. You will process financing requests, manage supplier and contractor accounts, and work with sales and underwriting teams to move purchases through funding.

The role emphasizes urgency, accuracy, and high customer satisfaction, with in-office Monday-Thursday work and optional Friday remote, plus flexible work-from-home allowances.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in underwriting or contract management roles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment across sales, finance, legal/compliance, and customer care.
• Urgency is critical; follow up via phone, email, and text.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Box, Microsoft Office Suite, LexisNexis, Experian credit reports.

Responsibilities

• Process daily material financing and pay application advance requests for funding, including reviewing purchase statements, invoices, setting up supplier accounts, and due diligence.
• Provide daily email, phone, and text updates to contractor customers, suppliers, and general contractors on purchase statuses.
• Maintain existing accounts with up-to-date documents for contractors, projects, and purchase requests.
• Serve as a point of contact to contractors for questions related to purchases, Billd product, and financing terms.
• Underwrite the purchase or Pay App, set up accounts payable, and coordinate with contractor, general contractor, and supplier for a seamless process.
• Collaborate with sales and underwriting teams to move purchases through the funding pipeline.
• Communicate good and bad news to contractor customers and suppliers.
• Support and contribute to department process improvements.
• Research and record background checks for new contractors and escalate for administrative review when needed.
• Research contractor/project information via third-party data providers for appropriate diligence.
• Support internal projects; internal audits and updates to procedures.
