Job summary

Constrafor is rebuilding the financial infrastructure behind construction finance and scaling rapidly. As Head of Credit Underwriting, you will architect a best-in-class risk function that protects the company while enabling disciplined growth and scalable originations.

You will own risk across underwriting, portfolio strategy, fraud, and compliance, and partner with Credit, Sales, Legal, Product, and Engineering to embed risk into product design and onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics required.
• 8+ years in alternative credit roles.
• Experience building risk frameworks across ABL, factoring, and receivables.
• Strong risk modeling and portfolio analytics knowledge.
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Startup or high-growth experience preferred.
• Ability to lead through influence across functions.
• Construction finance risk understanding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a company-wide risk management framework tailored to construction finance.
• Own portfolio risk strategy across underwriting, monitoring, and loss mitigation.
• Monitor risk exposures including project performance, payment waterfalls, liens, and delays.
• Provide leadership to the risk organization and foster accountability.
• Lead risk assessments for clients and counter-parties.
• Establish portfolio monitoring with early warning indicators and risk grading.
• Innovate underwriting framework to enable scalable originations.
• Analyze risk trends and macro impacts on the portfolio.
• Ensure policy knowledge and partner with credit providers on resolutions.
• Collaborate with Credit, Sales, Legal, Product, and Engineering.
• Build and monitor risk performance to protect liquidity.
