Job summary

Twehous Excavating Company Inc, based in Jefferson City, Missouri, is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and partner with the CFO on financial planning and reporting. This is a leadership role for someone with strong analytical skills and experience in project-based construction accounting.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, and CPA/CMA is desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
CPA, CMA, or similar designation is desirable but not required for candidates with strong experience.
Construction accounting experience in heavy civil or project-based environments is valuable.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting operations: GL, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, cash reconciliations.
Assist CFO in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Maintain internal controls and segregation of duties.
Oversee accounting personnel and set standards for accuracy and timeliness.
Assist CFO with cash flow forecasting, banking, bonding, tax planning, capex, and other financial matters.
Ensure compliance with federal/state accounting, payroll, tax, and reporting requirements.
Develop improved reporting processes and accounting controls as the company grows.
