Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist to coordinate field safety programs across routine projects and to conduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations. You will support safety leadership, enforce regulations, and ensure timely worker treatment and return to work with comprehensive documentation.

Responsibilities include orientation, policy compliance, meetings participation, and trend analysis to mitigate future hazards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health-related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• 2+ years construction safety experience required.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local and company safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conducts regular walk-through inspections of sites to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Conducts safety audits and documents abatement of hazardous conditions for internal and external clients.
• Oversees new hire orientation and ensures drug and alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitors the implementation of prime contractor and subcontractor safety programs.
• Attends project meetings to discuss safety-related matters.
• Assists in the investigation of accidents and recommends changes to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinates with injured employees to ensure timely treatment and return to work.
