Job summary

Veit in Minnesota is seeking a Field Operations Intern to gain hands-on experience across multiple service groups in our construction operations. You'll rotate through site layout, quality control, safety compliance, and project coordination on active job sites.

Travel between sites, collaborate with engineers, superintendents and PMs, learn construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Build), and contribute to safety and documentation while developing practical field skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Strong interest in field operations and hands-on construction experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with construction tech tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily field operations, including site coordination, safety compliance, and quality control.
• Support layout and surveying activities using GPS and total station equipment.
• Support procurement tracking and delivery coordination for materials and equipment.
• Help track progress against project schedules and update field documentation.
• Participate in subcontractor coordination meetings and assist with issue resolution.
• Maintain and organize field reports, RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.
• Conduct site inspections and assist with safety audits.
• Collaborate with field teams to ensure materials and equipment are available as needed.
• Learn and apply construction management software tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Build).
