Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of experience in construction estimating and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of masonry construction methods, materials, and installation techniques.
  • Experience with brick, block, stone, mortar, reinforcement, and related masonry systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, AccuBid, or similar platforms.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Construction Estimator / Project Manager – Masonry


Job Type: Full-Time/Permanent/Direct Hire

Job Summary


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in masonry construction estimating and project management, with the ability to estimate projects ranging from $15,000 to $650,000 and successfully manage projects from inception through completion.


This position requires a strong understanding of masonry construction methods, materials, labor, and project costs, along with excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities


Estimating & Bidding



  • Review construction plans, specifications, drawings, and other bid documents to determine project requirements.

  • Perform detailed material take-offs for masonry projects, including brick, block, stone, mortar, reinforcement, and related materials.

  • Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers.

  • Calculate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.

  • Prepare accurate, competitive, and comprehensive bid proposals.

  • Ensure all project scope, specifications, exclusions, and client requirements are properly addressed.

  • Participate in bid reviews, presentations, and client discussions.

  • Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, project costs, and historical pricing data.

  • Identify potential project risks, cost impacts, and scope gaps during the estimating process.


Project Management



  • Manage masonry construction projects from planning and execution through final closeout.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and timelines.

  • Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.

  • Monitor project budgets, costs, expenses, and overall financial performance.

  • Manage subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and vendor relationships.

  • Conduct regular job-site visits to monitor project progress, quality, safety, and schedule.

  • Identify and resolve project issues proactively.

  • Manage change orders and evaluate their impact on project scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.

  • Prepare project reports, documentation, progress updates, and closeout materials.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.


Qualifications & Requirements



  • 5–7+ years of experience in construction estimating and project management.

  • Proven experience estimating and managing construction projects of varying sizes and complexities.

  • Strong knowledge of masonry construction methods, materials, and installation techniques.

  • Experience with brick, block, stone, mortar, reinforcement, and related masonry systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contracts.

  • Strong understanding of construction costs, labor productivity, materials, and subcontractor pricing.

  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, AccuBid, or similar platforms.

  • Experience using standard project management and construction management software.

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • OSHA 30 certification is highly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
