Job summary

Jobot in Farmington Hills, MI is hiring a Construction Senior Estimator to drive budgets, estimates, and tender analyses for projects across Michigan. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subs to prepare accurate estimates and competitive bids.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience), 5–10 years of estimating experience, and proficiency with Sage Timberline, On-center, Bluebeam, Procore, and MS

• Utilize estimating software to create accurate and timely estimates.
• Provide data for conceptual and hard bid projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate and competitive bids.

Job Details

As a Construction Senior Estimator, you will:

• Prepare preliminary budgets, estimates, and detailed estimates for projects of varying size and complexity
• Analyze costs and prepare estimates
• Establish and maintain tender processes, examine and analyze tenders, and recommend tender awards
• Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to prepare estimates on cost changes
• Utilize estimating software and document management programs to create accurate and timely estimates
• Provide estimating data for both conceptual and hard bid projects
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and competitive bids

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5-10 years of experience in construction estimating
• Strong math, organizational, analytical, writing, and communication skills
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Sage Timberline, On-center takeoff software, and Bluebeam
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Project, and Procore
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
• Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
• OSHA certifications (preferred)
