Job summary

Performance Contracting Group in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced Estimator for our San Diego 571 operations. This role focuses on quantitative takeoffs, pricing, and bid development for commercial and industrial projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of estimating experience, strong reading of drawings, and proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, PlanSwift, and Excel. We value customer relationships and accurate cost analysis.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience estimating construction projects.
• Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction.
• Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work.
• Has a record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
• Cost analysis skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read project schedules and determine sequencing and durations.
• Proficiency with takeoff software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.
• Establish labor productivities for estimate.
• Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive pricing.
• Solicit subcontractor pricing for work outside the self-performing group.
• Understand market conditions to establish margins.
• Involvement in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams.
• Participate in customer alignment objectives and maintain relations.
• Contract administration for secured projects.
• Utilize wage and benefit schedules.
• Handoff secured projects to the Operations team.
• Assist in change order management or billings as needed.
• Support estimating team for product line collaboration.
