Job summary

Michigan Paving & Materials seeks an experienced Estimator to determine material, equipment, and labor needs for our construction projects, using project specs and historical data.

The role involves preparing budgets and proposals, reviewing plans, and creating competitive bids while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in Word/Excel and estimating software is required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field; equivalent experience.
• Valid state driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• 5+ years of experience in construction management/estimating preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-bid site visits to evaluate conditions and gather measurements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for asphalt paving and related projects.
• Review plans and bid documents to identify scope and risks.
• Prepare and submit competitive bids.
