Job summary

Michigan Paving and Materials is seeking a full-time Estimator in Michigan to determine material, equipment, and labor requirements for asphalt paving and related projects. You will develop budgets and competitive bids using specifications and historical data.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field and 5+ years estimating/CM experience, with proficiency in Word/Excel. Travel and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field; experience may substitute.
• Five+ years in construction management or estimating preferred.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.
• Pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-bid site visits to evaluate conditions and costs.
• Prepare detailed estimates for asphalt paving, milling, and related work.
• Review plans and bid documents to identify scope and risks.
• Submit competitive bids compliant with local regulations.
• Build relationships with owners, contractors, and engineers.
• Solicit quotes from suppliers/subcontractors and ensure price quality.
• Utilize estimating software and ensure safety/environment compliance.
• Monitor projects and update estimates as needed.
