Job summary

LeoForce is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator in Kansas City, MO to support cost planning across school, commercial, federal, state, and hospitality construction projects. The role partners with project management, clients, and vendors to ensure accurate estimates and timely bid submissions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction estimating, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with cost estimation tools and Excel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating for school, commercial, federal, state, government, and hospitality projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proficient in cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel; strong knowledge of construction materials and processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
• Conducting research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, and other necessary information.
• Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Developing a comprehensive understanding of project scope and requirements with the project management team.
• Preparing, reviewing and presenting cost estimates and bid packages; conducting risk analysis.

Job Details

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the financial planning of construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure. As a Construction Estimator, you will work closely with our project management team, clients, and vendors to ensure accurate cost estimation for a variety of construction projects including school, commercial, federal, state, government, and hospitality constructions.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
• Conducting research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, and other necessary information.
• Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Working with the project management team to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project scope and requirements.
• Assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Preparing, reviewing and presenting cost estimates and bid packages.
• Conducting risk analysis and advising on mitigating potential risks.
• Liaising with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Preparing and presenting reports and findings to senior management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in school, commercial, federal, state, government, and hospitality constructions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proficient in cost estimation software and tools.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Knowledge of industrial construction and government construction regulations and standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
