Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and bid development.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.

• Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard bid estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and scope analysis.
• Solicit and manage subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for completeness and constructability.
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving recommendations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Collaborate with Operations and Project Management for turnover.

The Kulka Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing commercial construction team.

This role is a critical part of our organization and plays a major role in the successful planning and execution of our projects. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, analytical, proactive, and capable of managing multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with subcontractors, vendors, project managers, architects, engineers, and ownership teams throughout the preconstruction process.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard bid estimates for commercial construction projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs and scope analysis
• Solicit and manage subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for completeness and constructability
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving recommendations
• Analyze subcontractor proposals and level scopes
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and bid reviews
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist with budgeting, procurement planning, and buyout coordination
• Maintain organized estimating files, bid documents, and historical cost data
• Collaborate closely with Operations and Project Management teams to ensure smooth project turnover

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software platforms
