The Kulka Group is seeking an Estimator to join our growing commercial construction team in Hauppauge, NY. This role supports preconstruction through detailed takeoffs, bid development, and coordination with subcontractors.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication with project teams and vendors is essential to deliver accurate, competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and bid development.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard bid estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and scope analysis.
• Solicit and manage subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for completeness and constructability.
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving recommendations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Collaborate with Operations and Project Management for turnover.
