Job summary

MacBracey in Washington state is seeking a dependable Construction Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive project estimates, collaborate with ownership, PMs, and field staff, and help drive bid strategies.

You will perform quantity takeoffs, pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support budgeting and preconstruction planning in a hands-on, fast-paced team.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.

Responsibilities

  • Review commercial construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Solicit, level, and manage subcontractor and supplier bids.
  • Work directly with ownership to develop pricing strategies and bid proposals.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
  • Assist with budgeting, preconstruction planning, and project handoff to operations.
  • Maintain relationships with local subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Support project managers with cost tracking and change order pricing as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and historical cost data.
  • Occasionally visit job sites to better understand scope and conditions.

We are a small, family-owned commercial construction company seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Construction Estimator. This role is hands-on and integral to our team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive project estimates while working closely with ownership, project managers, and field staff. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review commercial construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
