Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator with a strong background in glazing and glass systems. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals for commercial, institutional, and residential glazing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and scope of work related to glazing systems including curtain walls, storefronts, window walls, interior glass, and specialty glass applications.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing of materials, labor, and equipment.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and up-to-date product information.
• Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages in a timely manner.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as necessary.
• Identify project risks and opportunities to help drive value engineering efforts.
• Maintain and update estimating tools, templates, and historical cost databases.
• Support project managers and the sales team with budget development, change orders, and post-bid clarifications.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (3–5+ years) in construction estimating, specifically within the glazing/glass industry.
• Solid knowledge of various glazing systems, materials, fabrication methods, and installation practices.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents.
• Strong computer skills including experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, OST, PlanSwift, Microsoft Excel, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards related to glass and glazing.
• Experience with project management or field coordination in the glass industry is a plus.
