POSTION - SENIOR CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR - DATA CENTRE

LOCATION - REMOTE ROLE

As part of our Cost Management team, you'll be involved in a wide range of construction projects from global, high-profile clients to smaller projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and to budget. Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting, and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working. You will help manage the delivery of cost management in the construction sector of small / medium / large projects, ensuring standards of delivery meet defined objectives. You will also be responsible for delivering the defined scope of work in line with various controls and will have expert-level technical knowledge and experience in their field. An ideal candidate must have experience in multiple fields, including Data Centers.

  • Responsible for conceptual planning, early design, pre-bid, hard-bid, and negotiated contracts, including interpretation and quantification of plans and specifications, surveying of existing site conditions, solicitation of material and subcontractor bids, cost estimates, and the preparation of bid documents and proposals.
  • Prepare estimating procedures and overall estimating review and justification.
  • Create project costings and budgets from clear objectives, managing finances across a project to ensure profit and budgetary targets are met, and best value outcomes are achieved.
  • Lead and manage individual cost management assignments from inception to completion, managing teams and resources to ensure delivery standards meet client expectations.
  • Monitor and review the performance and behavior of all team members, including educating and influencing others, and take action to ensure compliance with organizational policies and codes of conduct across the entire project team.
  • Assure compliance with contracts in terms of project delivery parameters and scope of service.
  • Analyze and compile a range of complex data and documents, using knowledge to review and assess analysis and provide recommendations to contribute to project decision-making.
  • Use own knowledge and experience of industry best practices to support the development of current cost and commercial management systems and processes.
  • Work to improve services and drive innovation to increase team contribution to project delivery.
  • Manage relationships with customers to identify opportunities to improve the cost management offering and deliver customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a key technical resource within the field of cost / commercial management, providing technical advice and solutions to internal colleagues to support successful project delivery across a range of projects.
  • Build valued relationships with senior clients and stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction, develop the cost management service, and create new business opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying) and 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g., AACE, RICS, or similar).
  • Relevant professional experience in a similar working environment, including delivering medium / large projects across an entire project lifecycle.
  • Experience managing people and demonstrating leadership skills, including the ability to motivate others.
  • Experience building and managing client relationships at senior-management level, including the ability to act as a trusted advisor.
