Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Safety Director to proactively plan and direct the ESH program, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for employees, clients, subcontractors, and the public. You will lead a safety culture across projects, partnering with executives to implement initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include supervising safety staff, conducting inspections and root cause analyses, and coordinating OSHA reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, safety management, construction or related field preferred.
• Board Certified Safety Professional designation preferred (CSP, ASP, or CHST).
• OSHA 510 Certification obtained within the last 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Champions safety culture and delivers predictable outcomes for internal and external teams.
• Oversees safety staff and ensures compliance with safety regulations.
• Leads incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Prepares monthly safety reports for management and stakeholders.
• Manages OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
