Job summary

Layton Construction Company is seeking a Safety Director to proactively plan, direct, and implement the ESH program across projects, ensuring a safe, healthy environment for employees, clients, subcontractors, and the public.

The role partners with executive leadership to sustain a proactive safety culture, lead safety teams, and manage regulatory compliance including OSHA. Extensive travel to multiple locations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of direct commercial construction safety experience.
• Board Certified Safety Professional designation preferred (CSP, ASP, CHST).
• OSHA 510 Certification within the last 24 months.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and risk management.
• Proven ability to influence diverse audiences and lead safety teams.

Responsibilities

• Champions safety initiatives and ensures a safe work environment.
• Direct and implement ESH programs across projects and locations.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Prepare monthly safety reports for management and owners.
• Oversee safety staff and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop training programs aligned with business expectations.
