Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Safety Director to proactively plan, direct, and implement the ESH program across construction projects. You will ensure safe operations for employees, clients, subcontractors, and the public, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

You will partner with executives and SBU leadership to build a positive safety culture, lead incident investigations, and train teams in site safety practices. Extensive travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EH&S or related field preferred.
• 15 years of direct commercial construction safety experience.
• Certification preferred (CSP/ASP/CHST).
• OSHA 510 Certification obtained within last 24 months.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management and workers' comp.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement the ESH program for safety across projects.
• Direct safety staff and ensure compliance with OSHA and related regs.
• Plan, investigate root causes and report safety metrics monthly.
• Develop training programs to improve site safety practices.
• Coordinate with executives to foster a proactive safety culture.
