Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a mobile Fleet Mechanic to inspect, test, repair and maintain motorized equipment used on large construction projects. The role involves working in a warehouse/shop setting and visiting sites as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of fleet maintenance/repair experience, a valid driver license, and the ability to travel including overnights. CDL is preferred and applicants should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience in fleet equipment maintenance and repair.
• Experience with construction equipment such as hand tools, concrete finishing machines, mixers, and air compressors.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to travel, including overnights.
• C DL License.
• Team-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Examine motorized equipment and related components for damage or malfunction.
• Test motorized equipment systems and components.
• Adjust, repair, and replace motorized equipment and components.
• Review work orders, discuss work with Supervisors.
• Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and own experience.
• Other duties as assigned.
