Mortenson is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support environmental management for Seattle and Portland commercial construction projects, with potential to support additional regions. The role involves reviewing environmental documents and advising on environmental matters consistent with company policies.

The position can be based in Portland, OR or Seattle, WA. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least four years of experience, and the ability to travel up to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.
• Minimum of four years related experience.
• Experience with erosion control, SWPPP, SPCC, wetlands, or endangered species.
• Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental laws.

Responsibilities

• Implement environmental program for simple to moderately complex project sites.
• Develop site-specific environmental plans and activities.
• Review environmental submittals and attend meetings.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations through policies and procedures.
• Lead environmental orientation and training programs.
• Monitor and inspect work sites for environmental issues.
• Collaborate with customers on regulatory reporting and documentation.
• Interface with consultants, regulatory agencies, and environmental personnel.
• Support company-wide Environmental Management programs.
