Job summary

Tennessee Department of Transportation is seeking a Construction Engineering Technician 4 to provide expert oversight for TDOT construction projects in Region 3 – District 37. The role requires deep knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety, with a focus on ensuring compliance and quality across teams.

The successful candidate will guide in-house and CEI personnel, analyze inspection data, and help implement TDOT’s Work Program while coordinating with contractors and suppliers

Qualifications

• High school diploma required with 4 years of relevant transportation operations experience and completion of the Engineering Technician Proficiency Program I-III.
• Associate degree may substitute for 2 years of experience in related field.
• Experience should include transportation-related construction, materials testing, surveying, and project operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME-level oversight for TDOT work on transportation construction projects.
• Train and mentor CEI field crews and internal staff.
• Produce data, reports, and technical drawings to support project oversight.
