State of Tennessee is seeking a Construction Engineering Technician 4 to provide expert inspection oversight for TDOT projects across Region Operations and CEI teams. The role requires deep knowledge of methods and materials contractors may use, with emphasis on minimizing construction variability and ensuring sustainability of the Work Program.

The incumbent will mentor field crews, interpret specifications, and ensure compliance with TDOT policies.

Competenze

• Education equivalent to graduation from high school and four (4) years of relevant transportation operations experience.
• One (1) year of experience leading crews or training employees, with effective communication.
• An associate degree may substitute for 2 years of experience in the related field.

Mansioni

• Provide construction specifications and project oversight as SME to TDOT teams.
• Address project issues from TDOT, contractors, suppliers, or producers.
• Incorporate Quality Management into deliverables for compliance with TDOT and federal standards.
• Produce data, reports, and drawings ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Guide CEI personnel to ensure adequate project oversight and training.
