Job summary

The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is seeking a Transportation Supervising Engineer (Construction Engineering) at its Newington, CT headquarters. The role focuses on supervising multiple QA teams, guiding constructability reviews, records examination, and value engineering in accordance with federal and CTDOT standards.

Applicants should have extensive transportation construction experience, a lead-responsibility background, and professional licensure (LS or PE).

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of experience in transportation construction engineering.
• One (1) year of lead responsibility for complex transportation construction projects.
• Possession of Land Surveyor (LS) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure per CT statute.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead teams in the Quality Assurance unit, including constructability reviews and records examination.
• Coordinate value engineering efforts, reviews, and procedure updates to CTDOT standards.
• Serve as liaison with districts, municipalities, contractors and external agencies on construction matters.
