Job summary

TMG is seeking a Construction Engineer II - Civil to support project management and field operations on commercial and institutional construction projects. This developmental role focuses on expanding understanding of the construction process and developing management skills.

Responsibilities include assisting with shop drawings, RFIs, cost estimates, scheduling, document control, change management, and coordination with subcontractors and clients.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 2-3 years of experience or 5 years of related work without degree.
• Understanding of construction means and methods for renovation of commercial/institutional buildings.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, and industry software.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and field operations in all project phases, including estimating, contracting, buyout, and closeout.
• Create, update, and maintain project controls tracking status of projects, changes, RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Process shop drawings/submittals with subject matter experts and coordinate with vendors.
• Support change management by updating logs, pricing, proposals, and change orders.
• Assist estimating with quantity surveys using digitizers, 3D modeling, and traditional methods.
• Develop and monitor project schedules using contemporary scheduling software.
• Assist with layout evaluation using CAD/CADD to verify spatial relationships.
• Support contract and purchase order negotiations.
• Produce reports using Project Center, USACE QCS/RMS, Prolog, etc.
• Identify issues early and propose practical solutions.
