Job summary

TMG Construction seeks a Construction Engineer I to support project management and field operations on multiple small or large projects. You will assist with shop drawings, RFIs, change management, estimating, scheduling, and submittals, while developing construction management skills.

The role targets individuals with a basic understanding of civil/architectural/mechanical/electrical disciplines and a drive to grow into higher responsibilities within TMG. Travel to job sites is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 0–1 years of experience with a commercial/industrial GC, or 3 years with no degree.
• Basic understanding of construction means and methods.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and common construction software.
• Willingness to travel to job sites within a designated area.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager, Superintendent, or other management roles throughout all life-cycle phases.
• Create, update, and maintain project controls (changes, RFIs, submittals, logs).
• Process shop drawings and submittals with SMEs.
• Support change management (pricing, change orders, proposals).
• Assist estimating with quantity surveys and 3D modeling data.
• Develop and monitor project schedules using scheduling software.
• Coordinate with CAD for dimensioning and layout; review shop drawings.
• Assist with contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Produce regular reports using project workflow software.
• Identify issues and facilitate timely solutions.
• Learn contract terms and legal requirements to prevent delays.
