Job summary

James G. Davis Construction Corporation is seeking an EHS Engineer in Rockville, MD to eliminate hazardous conditions arising from human error and equipment use.

The role requires applying advanced safety principles, corporate EHS standards, and regulatory compliance to protect workers and property. The EHS Engineer will inspect, analyze, and drive corrective actions, participate in high-risk activity planning, and deliver trainings across field and classroom settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in occupational Environmental Health + Safety or related field.
• Construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform field safety inspections and hazard control.
• Document findings and follow-up actions using EHS systems.
• Review Pre-Task Plans, Job Hazard Analyses, and high-risk work plans (e.g., crane lifts, demolition, fall protection).
• Evaluate hazard controls and collaborate with project teams to improve planning.
• Engage trade partners and operations leadership on EHS outcomes and compliance.
