Thompson Machinery is seeking a General Mechanic/Service Shop Technician in La Vergne, TN to set up, repair, service, diagnose, and install parts on Caterpillar diesel-powered construction equipment. You’ll work largely independently or with mentors, reporting to a Service Shop Manager and serving customers in our shop locations.

The role requires diesel equipment experience, technical training, and a valid driver's license, with overtime and some weekend hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of hands-on equipment/engine experience.
• Diesel engine or truck engine training through accredited schools or relevant military experience.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license; CDL may be required for some field positions.
• Ability to work five-day schedules with daily overtime and occasional weekend hours.

Responsabilités

• Read and interpret technical instruction, service and safety manuals, policies and procedures.
• Work with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics and wiring diagrams; use test equipment.
• Provide high-quality repair service on equipment and engines, with safety and reliability.
