Effy Jewelry seeks a dynamic Construction Design Manager to execute cruise ship retail construction projects, translating our luxury brand into onboard spaces. You will lead from concept to completion, coordinating with planning, design development, operations, and vendors, while ensuring brand standards across international ports.

This role is open to remote candidates nationwide, with onsite work at our New York headquarters five days a week for local candidates located in or near NYC.

Qualifications

Job Overview

Effy Jewelry is seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Design Manager to execute Cruise Ship Retail Construction projects, translating Effy's brand identity into physical retail spaces onboard. Reporting to the Senior Design Manager within the Store Design and Construction Department, this role takes projects handed over from the Planning and Design Development Team and drives them through the Construction Administration phase. The ideal candidate has 3+ years managing design projects from concept to completion, along with strong communication skills to coordinate across internal teams, cruise line partners, outfitters, and vendors. Experience with cruise lines, ship outfitters, international maritime vendors, and cruise ship regulations and logistics is preferred but not required.

This position is open to remote candidates nationwide. Candidates located in or near the New York City area will be required to work onsite at our headquarters five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management

• Lead and oversee the execution of Effy retail store construction projects on cruise ships, ensuring alignment with brand standards and design guidelines set by leadership and interior designers.
• Manage the handoff from the Planning Team and coordinate site visits with design teams and contractors throughout the project.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including operations, cruise line partners, outfitters, and vendors, to deliver projects on time and on budget, and assemble turnover documentation at project close.

2. Design Direction

• Execute the design development and concept set by the Planning and Design Development Team, ensuring brand standards are interpreted and applied appropriately.
• Provide creative direction to outfitters and vendors so design concepts translate effectively into physical spaces, and maintain creative approvals with the Senior Interior Designer, cruise line partners, and Effy leadership.

3. Budget & Resource Management

• Assist in managing project budgets and contracts approved by leadership and planning teams, and initiate value engineering alternatives as needed.
• Partner with outfitters, vendors, and procurement teams on pricing, bidding, execution, and material sourcing.

4. Quality Assurance

• Implement and enforce quality assurance processes with vendors and outfitters, providing in-field support that requires national and international travel to cruise ports, shipyards, and drydocks.
• Develop field reports documenting on-site progress and issues, manage the punch list, and secure final buy-off from the cruise lines.

5. Schedule

• Manage Project Timelines set forth by the Planning team, identifying critical milestones and ensuring all project phases are completed on schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required. Preferably in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management or related fields in the building industry
• Credentials with NCIDQ, AIA, or CSI is preferred
• 3+ Years of proven experience in Project Execution and Construction. Cruise Ship experience is preferred but not required
• Experience in construction administration in any industry. Preferably interior-related projects but not mandatory.
• Possesses exceptional project management skills, with a focus on on-time and on budget delivery.
• Demonstrates excellent creative knowledge and hands-on design experience.
• Able to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
