Job summary

Effy Jewelry, a family-owned luxury brand, is seeking a Product Development Planner at its New York City headquarters. The role forecasts, plans, and coordinates production, inventory, and distribution of retail experience products.

You will collaborate with Product Development, Sourcing, Creative, Retail Experience, Marketing, Operations, Logistics, and Finance to build plans that optimize inventory and support launches, while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain related fields.
  • 3-5 years in demand planning, production planning, inventory management, merchandising, supply chain, or purchasing with forecasting experience.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make business-driven recommendations.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain planning systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables, formulas, and data analysis; forecasting model experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production plans, purchasing schedules, and planning calendars across multiple product categories, forecasting demand using historical data, inventory levels, business initiatives, retail programs, cruise charters, marketing campaigns, and seasonal trends.
  • Recommend order quantities, production timing, and replenishment strategies to balance product availability and inventory investment, monitoring inventory levels, consumption trends, and product performance to proactively identify replenishment needs while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Create inventory allocation and distribution plans to support retail locations, cruise charters, events, and internal stakeholders.
  • Track purchase orders, production schedules, lead times, and deliveries to ensure products are available for planned launches and initiatives.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and production metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements and inventory optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product availability with project timelines and business objectives.
  • Develop dashboards and reports that provide visibility into inventory, forecasting, production status, and product availability.

The Product Development Planner is responsible for forecasting, planning, and coordinating the production, inventory, and distribution of retail experience products, including fixtures, displays, visual merchandising assets, luxury packaging, promotional merchandise, gifts with purchase, travel accessories, and branded collateral.

Working cross-functionally with Product Development, Sourcing, Creative, Retail Experience, Marketing, Operations, Logistics, and Finance, this role develops production plans, inventory strategies, and purchasing schedules that support business initiatives. By analyzing demand, inventory performance, and historical trends, the Product Development Planner ensures products are available in the right quantities, at the right time, while optimizing inventory investment and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This role is based at our New York City headquarters and requires being onsite five days a week

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Merchandising, Product Development, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, production planning, inventory management, merchandising, supply chain, or purchasing, with hands‑on experience forecasting demand, managing inventory, developing purchasing plans, and coordinating production schedules.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make business-driven recommendations.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain planning systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, formulas, and data analysis; experience building forecasting models is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience supporting retail operations, product launches, visual merchandising, or multi-location distribution preferred.
  • Experience in luxury retail, consumer products, packaging, promotional merchandise, hospitality, or related industries preferred.
  • Experience with project management platforms such as Asana is a plus.
Salary Range

$85,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
