Job summary

NEFCO, a construction supply company in the Columbus area, is seeking a non-CDL Driver to support local deliveries to contractor sites and offices. You will perform pre-trip checks, load and unload goods, and maintain accurate records while delivering exceptional service.

The ideal candidate is at least 23, has 2–5 years of experience with 24’ and 26’ vehicles, can lift up to 75 pounds, and will work Mon–Fri with early start times and regular pay. CDL is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred, but not required.
• Must be 23 years of age or older.
• Experience driving 24’ & 26’ commercial vehicles.
• 2–5 years driving commercial vehicles.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and have a valid Medical Card.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge of the local delivery area.
• Able to sit in a vehicle for long periods.
• Able to work in varying climates (cold, heat, humidity).
• Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl and twist for lifting.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-trip inspections of vehicle, equipment, paperwork, and loaded product.
• Make deliveries to customer job sites and home offices with a company vehicle.
• Load inventory on truck and unload at the destination while maintaining accuracy.
• Maintain a neat, safe, and organized work environment.
• Ensure manifests are complete and accurate.
• Provide timely, accurate and courteous customer service.
• Check in with customer via company technology at each designated account.
• Prepare and maintain records per company policies.
• Communicate from the field with the dispatcher and branch staff.
