Job summary

Cooper Electric Supply, LLC is seeking a collections professional to monitor accounts, initiate actions, and coordinate with sales and billing to ensure timely resolutions. The role emphasizes data accuracy, risk assessment, and proactive communication with customers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in collections (2+ in construction) and strong math, verbal, and written skills, plus proficiency with computer systems and Get Paid.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in collections with 2+ years in construction preferred.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Solid math, verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to communicate clearly and present solutions to customers.
• Proficient with computer software; experience using Get Paid is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned accounts daily and initiate collection actions via Get Paid.
• Maintain documentation of collection steps for all accounts.
• Advise senior management on collection escalation and legal options.
• Notify internal sales partners of collection issues.
• Assess risk by researching credit history and reports.
• Perform account reconciliation as needed.
• Review credit hold reports and release orders as appropriate.
• Collaborate with billing to resolve disputes.
• Perform other tasks to support the department's success.
