Cooper Electric Supply, LLC in Cranbury, NJ seeks an experienced Credit/Collections Specialist to manage assigned accounts, initiate collection actions, and work with internal teams to resolve billing disputes. You will monitor risk, document steps, and support senior management with escalation decisions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in collections, including construction-industry exposure, strong math and communication skills, and proficiency with billing software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in collections with 2+ years in construction industry preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent math, verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to communicate information clearly and present solutions to customers.
• Proficient with office software; Get Paid experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned accounts daily and initiate collection actions via email or phone.
• Maintain documentation on steps taken toward collections.
• Advise senior management on third-party escalation and legal counsel usage.
• Notify internal sales partners about collection issues.
• Assess risk by researching credit history and reports.
• Perform account reconciliation as needed.
• Review credit hold reports and release orders as appropriate.
• Collaborate with billing to resolve disputes.
• Perform other tasks to support the department's success.
