Job summary

Garney is seeking a Craft Training Instructor to deliver high-quality, hands-on training for Field Craft professionals. You will teach technical skills, safety protocols, and craft techniques while developing curricula aligned with project needs.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, adapt to diverse learners, and maintain trainee records. A strong background in construction trades and instructor experience are essential, with bilingual options encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent – Required.
• Advanced certifications or degrees in a construction-related field – Preferred.
• Industry-recognized instructor certification (e.g., NCCER Instructor Certification) – Preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in pipefitting, carpentry, pipe laying, cement masonry, or heavy equipment operating at a journeyman or technician level – Required.
• Prior experience in craft instruction or adult education – Preferred.
• Bilingual – Preferred.
• Proficiency in digital tools and instructional technologies.
• Ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training sessions using NCCER or internal curricula.
• Teach technical skills: blueprint reading, tool usage, construction techniques.
• Integrate safety principles to promote safety-first culture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess training needs and design curricula.
• Research industry practices and update training programs.
• Adapt lesson plans for diverse learners.
• Manage training labs, materials, and equipment.
• Assess trainee performance and provide feedback.
• Maintain records of progress and certifications.
• Coordinate with jobsite management on training initiatives.
• Engage with industry partners to align programs with workforce needs.
• Work with community organizations to promote construction careers.
