Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) is seeking a Cost Manager to deliver cost management services for projects in Indianapolis, with on-site commuting required up to three days a week. The role involves cost forecasting, reporting, change management, and close-out administration to help achieve client outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a construction/quantity surveying background with at least four years of related experience, strong Excel skills, and proven leadership and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Four years of relevant experience.
• Articulate with a clear analytical approach to problem solving and strong decision‑making abilities.
• People management experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and issues periodic cost reports to senior technical staff.
• Preparation of construction related cost estimates, cost plans, and cost strategies.
• Reviews cash flow prepared by junior technical staff and issues to senior technical staff.
• Reviews change orders in accordance with the client's approval process.
• Reviews invoices and ensures proper coding before forwarding to accounts payable.
• Provides procurement services for construction and engineering services, including RFPs and bid analysis.
• Overviews contractor buyout of subcontract bid packages.
• Attends bi-weekly cost meetings to review procurement and change order status.
• Provides cost information on value engineering analysis.
• Carries out earned value analysis of the project on a periodic basis.
• Reviews contractor close out administration for contractual compliance.
• Collaborates with team and communicates effectively.
• Identifies opportunities to add value toward client outcomes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
