Our projects range from municipal works and commercial structures to environmental restoration. We are committed to excellence, safety, and sustainability, with each project supported by a dedicated team of engineers, project managers, and field coordinators. If you're passionate about hands-on work, problem-solving, and being on the ground where the action happens, Zephyrus Engineering offers you a place to make a difference.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Construction Coordinator to join our team. This role involves frequent travel to project sites and close collaboration with our civil engineers and project managers. You\'ll be a vital part of our construction process, overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality, and coordinating between teams and contractors. This position is ideal for someone with experience in construction coordination and fieldwork who enjoys a fast-paced, outdoor environment and has strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Project Site Coordination: Oversee daily site activities to ensure construction aligns with plans and schedules. Collaborate with civil engineers to review blueprints, site plans, and project specifications, assisting in field layout as needed. Track project progress and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Contractor & Team Communication: Serve as a key point of contact between contractors, subcontractors, and project managers. Coordinate labor and resources at the site, ensuring that each phase of the project has the personnel and materials needed. Conduct and participate in on-site meetings with construction crews and subcontractors.
  • Quality Control & Safety Compliance: Conduct site inspections to ensure quality standards and compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and company policies. Enforce all safety guidelines, conduct site safety briefings, and monitor adherence to OSHA and other industry standards. Identify and address any issues that could impact safety, quality, or project timelines.
  • Material & Equipment Management: Oversee the delivery and inventory of materials and equipment, ensuring resources are readily available and stored securely. Coordinate with suppliers to maintain equipment functionality and arrange for maintenance or repairs as needed. Keep detailed records of material usage, equipment schedules, and delivery timelines.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project milestones, site conditions, and equipment logs. Prepare daily or weekly reports, including site activity summaries, progress updates, and any issues encountered. Assist with documentation required for inspections and permits, working with engineers to ensure all paperwork is completed correctly.
  • Support for Engineers & Project Managers: Assist civil engineers in field testing, site layouts, and reviewing designs against on-site conditions. Work closely with project managers on logistics and ensure project goals are met within the defined timeline and budget. Provide feedback on potential improvements or adjustments based on field observations and evolving project requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Associate or Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in construction coordination, site supervision, or a related field role. Experience working with civil engineers and managing construction schedules is highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of construction blueprints, engineering specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Effective problem-solving abilities to address site issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities for managing multiple responsibilities and maintaining accurate records.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
