A nonprofit organization is seeking a dedicated individual to oversee field operations for their Home Preservation Programs. The role includes project management, volunteer coordination, and ensuring compliance with building codes. Ideal candidates will have experience in repair and renovation, strong communication skills, and a commitment to Habitat's mission of affordable housing.
Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley (HFHNFV) is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit housing organization. Our mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live. We build homes sold to qualifying families at fair market value, offering 0% interest financing and affordable payments not exceeding 30% of the household income. Additionally, we operate a Home Preservation Program to assist low-income homeowners with health, safety, or code violations, including repairs like painting, ramp installation, roof replacements, and mechanical updates. Work is completed by volunteers, with subcontractors handling more technical repairs requiring licensed professionals.
Our goal is to serve 75 families annually through building 10 homes and repairing 65 homes, aiming for a greater community impact.
This role oversees the field operations of HFHNFV’s Home Preservation Programs, including project management from evaluation to completion. Key duties involve inspecting projects, defining scope and budgets, scheduling, volunteer coordination, bidding, material ordering, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with scope and building codes.
Work involves site mobility, ladder climbing, lifting at least 75 pounds, travel to sites, and operating vehicles. Habitat is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
