Job summary

Brady West, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead construction accounting operations and financial reporting.

Reporting directly to the Business Unit President, this role blends strategic partnership with day-to-day accounting leadership and team development. You will oversee monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, GAAP compliance, job costing, revenue recognition, and reporting for projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of construction accounting experience with revenue over $50MM.
• Leadership experience and team development.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, billing, payroll, and reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience (Penta, Plexxis, ViewPoint or similar).
• CPA and bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Oversee AP, AR, billing, collections, payroll, and local banking.
• Manage job costing, contract billings, change orders, and revenue recognition.
• Monitor cash flow, project profitability, and financial performance.
• Develop and coach accounting team; partner with Shared Services.
• Support growth initiatives and improve reporting processes.
