Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Construction Project Accounting Controller based in Irvine to lead accounting operations across two legacy divisions joining into one entity. The role reports to the Unit President and manages a team of 5–6 staff, overseeing WIP, AIA billings, and complex client requirements including large healthcare providers.

The position emphasizes close collaboration with field operations, cross-department alignment, and timely financial reporting in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification or public accounting audit experience (construction) is a strong plus but not required if accounting experience is robust.
• Strong foundation in commercial construction accounting and WIP calculations.

Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership & WIP Accounting across two operating divisions.
• Manage day-to-day accounting functions, monthly close, GL reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Expertise in WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Oversee billings (AIA G702/G703), collections, and vendor payments.
• Drive monthly financial reviews, budget-to-actual variances, and cash flow forecasting.
