Job summary

Green Star Exteriors is seeking a Controller to oversee the accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. Based in Holmes, PA, you will manage A/P, A/R, payroll, and cash flow while leading a growing accounting team.

You will drive job costing, project billing, WIP, and margin analysis across construction projects, partnering with executives and CPAs to support strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
• 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in the construction industry
• Strong understanding of construction accounting incl. percentage of completion, WIP reporting, and retention
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage 300, Foundation, Viewpoint)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, general ledger, payroll, and cash management
• Manage and refine job costing, project billing, WIP schedules, and margin tracking
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts across all construction projects
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant tax, audit, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with external CPAs, auditors, and financial institutions
• Implement and maintain accounting systems and internal controls
• Provide financial reporting and insights to company leadership
• Lead and mentor the accounting team
• Support strategic planning, including long-term budgeting and capital planning
