Job summary

Sompo International is seeking a Claims Specialist, Construction to join our Casualty Claims team. The role focuses on direct handling of construction-related general liability claims, coverage analysis, and reserving, with coordination of counsel and underwriters.

Based in Scottsdale, AZ or other U.S. offices, the position offers collaborative growth and a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree preferred; JD preferred but not required; adjuster’s license required.
• 3–5 years in insurance claims, construction-related.
• Designations such as CPCU, IIA, or SCLA a plus.
• Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct handling and management of general liability claims for construction-related insureds.
• Provide coverage analysis and establish reserves.
• Communicate with management and underwriters on losses and trends.
• Manage counsel and strategy to control expenses and resolve litigated claims.
• Maintain diary and assist renewal processes with underwriters and actuaries.
