Job summary

Allied World invites experienced liabilty claims professionals to join our team in handling a broad range of construction defect and casualty claims. You will analyze coverage, draft positions, and coordinate with defense counsel, insureds, brokers, and underwriters while reserving appropriately and reporting trends.

The role collaborates across underwriting, actuarial, finance, and operations on various projects and requires interaction with senior management through executive reporting.

Qualifications

• A minimum of four (4) years of experience handling liability insurance claims, including General Liability and Construction Defect, with NY Labor Law experience.
• Substantial knowledge of Casualty claims and coverage issues; excellent negotiation and communication skills; technical writing ability.
• Bachelor’s degree (four-year college) required; proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage a vigorous load of claims involving a broad spectrum of accounts and coverages; analyze coverage, draft coverage positions, and manage litigation with insureds, brokers, defense counsel, underwriters and others; establish timely reserves and report claim developments and trends to claims and underwriting management.
• Collaborate with underwriting, finance, actuarial, operations and technology on projects; prepare claim summaries and executive reports for senior management; present quarterly to executives.
• Meet with existing or prospective clients and brokers; attend relevant industry conferences/meetings.
• Travel required.
