Job summary

Sompo International seeks a Senior Casualty Claims Specialist to manage a diverse casualty claims portfolio, including Auto and GL, with strong technical acumen and legal insight. The role involves collaboration with underwriters, management, and external counsel across multiple U.S.

offices including Miami, NYC, and others. You will analyze coverage, set reserves, and drive claim strategies while maintaining high-quality documentation and cross-team knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in a technical insurance claims role or insurance defense law firm.
• Strong claim technical acumen and accuracy with good customer service.
• Ability to analyze coverage, reserves, and exposure; manage Mediations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage a casualty claims portfolio with bodily injury, property damage, and coverage issues.
• Conduct coverage and exposure analysis, establish reserves, identify severity issues.
• Communicate developments with management, underwriters, and stakeholders.
• Oversee assigned counsel and execute claim strategies to control expenses.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation, diaries, and portfolio trends.
• Support renewals, policy drafting, negotiations, and knowledge sharing.
