Sterling Industrial LLC. is seeking a Certified Payroll Specialist to manage certified payroll, prevailing wage, and other project-specific payroll requirements.

The role collaborates with Payroll, HR, project teams, and field administration to ensure accurate pay, classifications, wage rates, fringe benefits, and proper documentation. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of payroll experience, familiarity with Davis-Bacon and wage determinations, and proficiency in Excel and ERP/payroll systems.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of payroll or related experience preferred.
• Experience with certified payroll, prevailing wage, Davis Bacon requirements, wage determinations, and fringe benefits preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Good communication skills with project teams, field personnel, and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports per contract and regulatory requirements.
• Review classifications, wage determinations, prevailing wage rates, and fringe benefits for accuracy.
• Monitor Davis Bacon and state prevailing wage requirements across projects.
• Maintain wage determinations and update changes affecting pay rates or fringes.
• Investigate discrepancies in payroll data and coordinate with project teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain certified payroll records and documentation per regulatory and contractual standards.
• Assist audits by gathering records and responding to requests.
• Ensure timely submission of required payroll reports and forms.
