Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Knoxville seeks a Business Development Manager to own the market relationships with general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms, driving the pipeline from contact to signed testing and inspection work.

You will partner with a seller-doer engineer pricing and sealing the technical side, while you manage the pipeline, negotiations, and close. Expect base salary plus commission on collected revenue, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry.
• Existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market.
• Disciplined pipeline habits: documented, forecastable, and honest.
• Comfortable discussing specifications and terms with superintendents and owners.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms.
• Own relationships end to end and track permits, bid boards, and project announcements.
• Run pursuit pipeline in the CRM from first contact through proposal and signed agreement.
• Coordinate proposals with engineering: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up.
• Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events.
• Report pipeline and results monthly.
