Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Business Development Manager in the Portland area to own the market for general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms. You will focus on relationships, pipeline development, and closing deals with a base salary plus commission on collected revenue.

You will work with a seller-doer engineer pricing and sealing the technical side while you cultivate opportunities, manage the pursuit pipeline in CRM, and represent the company at industry events

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry.
• Ability to build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms.
• Comfortable discussing specifications and schedules with superintendents and owners.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities from initial contact through signed agreements.
• Coordinate proposals with engineering: scope, pricing, and qualifications.
• Track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to find work before award.
• Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events; report pipeline monthly.
• Travel locally and occasionally to Sugar Land HQ as needed.
